Hi, I’m Vanessa!
Welcome to Three Legs One World. I’m so glad you’ve found the blog and decided to drop by. I discovered my love of travel a little later than most, I was 25. My husband and I decided to take a trip to Ireland for my birthday and our 5 year wedding anniversary and I was hooked! Since then we travel any chance that we get!
I have a Bachelors of Arts in History with a concentration in European History. No, I do not want to be a teacher. Truth be told, I’ve never actually known what I want to be when I grow up but at 33, I thought I should probably figure it out. I only finished my degree a few years ago and in one of my final
I do love both, so here I am!
I also love 90’s music, reading, hiking, kayaking, camping, the Viking Age, Tudor and Medieval history, researching new places, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Outlander, Stranger Things and being a dog mom.
Favorite place so far: Isle of Skye, Scotland
Mountains or Beach: Mountains!
The Mr won’t be an active part of the blog you will hear me mention him. We are high school sweethearts and have been married for 13 years. Don’t ask me how that happened? Yes, we met at the Homecoming Dance, yes it’s cheesy but it’s true! He smelled my hair, I thought he was weird but endearing! haha
The blog name was inspired by him. In 2008 while serving in the Marine Corps he was deployed to Afghanistan where he was seriously injured in an IED explosion. He lost his left leg below the knee, broke his right foot, had a complete rebuild on his right knee but managed to escape with only minor burns. It changed both of our lives forever BUT it did inspire us to travel as often as possible and to not put things off until later.
The Mr loves reading, writing, fishing, hunting, playing golf, hiking, the great outdoors, playing video games, Medieval History, the American Revolution, and Stranger Things…of course!
Favorite place so far: Northern Wales
Mountains or Beach: Mountains
We do not have kids yet but we do have a stone cold pack of 4 legg’d babies. I take them with me as often as possible. For more about them click here.
Stick around for awhile!
